EIDON Retinal Imaging

The first True Color Confocal Scanner by CenterVue.

EIDON is the first system to combine the advantages of SLO with the fidelity of true color imaging, setting new performance standards in retinal imaging. EIDON provides unsurpassed image quality, 60° field in a single exposure, a unique, live, confocal view of the retina, three different imaging modalities and dilation-free operation, all integrated in a versatile system that provides new opportunities in retinal diagnostics.

Zeiss Visucam Technology

Building on ZEISS’ reputation for quality optics and innovation, VISUCAM enables our doctors to capture high-resolution, digital images of the retina and posterior segment of the eye through the smallest pupil size in the industry (3.3 millimeters compared to the competitors’ 3.7 millimeters). In many cases this eliminates the need to dilate the pupil prior to testing.

Additionally, the technology captures high-resolution images at 30- and 45- degree field angles allowing for early documentation of such conditions as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and glaucoma.

Cirrus OCT – High Definition Retina Exam

Doctors Marcin and Johnson recently made a major upgrade to their diagnostic arsenal when they acquired the newest, state of the art, high-definition macula scanner on the market. The Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT, is a non-invasive technology used for imaging the retina — the multi-layered sensory tissue lining the back of the eye. The Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scanner was the first instrument to allow doctors to see cross-sectional images of the retina. This technology has been used in vitreo-retina care for years. However, the latest high-definition scanning technology has revolutionized the way doctors image and diagnose macula and glaucoma conditions.

With its advanced, next generation, precise algorithms, The Zeiss Cirrus provides Drs. Marcin & Johnson highly detailed, high-definition maps and images of the macula and retinal structures. This allows Drs. Marcin & Johnson to make the most accurate diagnosis possible.

For macular degeneration, macular pucker, macular hole and glaucoma patients, this new imaging technology offers a quantum leap forward in diagnosis technology.

Our Services

Special Exam Services
At the Doctor’s discretion, additional evaluations may be necessary for your best care. Our staff can discuss them with you as needed. Some of these services are listed below.

Keratology
Additional evaluation of the corneal surface and tear film, necessary for all contact wearers and refractive surgery patients.

Topography
Additional digital mapping of the corneal surface, necessary for refractive surgery and Keratoconus patients, and for some contact lens wearers. May also be necessary for some patients with corneal irregularities or disease.

Pachymetry
Ultrasonic measurement of the corneal thickness, necessary for refractive surgery and glaucoma patients.

Threshold Visual Fields
Comprehensive mapping of peripheral vision sensitivity to evaluate the extent of vision loss. We utilize the new Humphrey Matrix frequency-doubling technology, which has been shown to detect vision loss from glaucoma sooner than older visual fields technologies.

Exophthalmometry
Measuring the protrusion of the eyeball from the orbit. Necessary in thyroid disease, as well as some other eye conditions.

Color Vision Analysis
Comprehensive analysis of the type and depth of a color vision defect.

Digital Documentation (Zeiss Visucam)
Capturing a permanent digital image of an eye condition with cameras and microscopes for the purpose of documentation and monitoring possible progression of the condition.
